We will organize conferences, inform about conferences organized by others, and take initiatives to foster scholarly debates and exchanges.
The groups bent on blemishing the image of Poland are relentlessly falsifying history regarding Polish experiences during WWII. In order to promote these false claims and distortion, they hold conferences, such as the one in February 2019 in Paris, named “New Polish school of the Holocaust history” and organized by the French university EHESS. The symposium, which had an ideological anti-Polish character, served the purpose of whitewashing Nazi Germany and shifting the blame for the Holocaust on the Polish people. The logistics, the proceedings and the content of the presentations at that symposium did not follow the proper academic standards on transparency or methodology. The speakers insulted Poland, Polish people in general, Polish authorities, institutions, and Polish participants in the conference. Professor Annette Wieviorka, the research director from the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), made the Polish church co-responsible for the Holocaust and called Poles taking part in the symposium a “hateful horde.” Valentin Behr, a researcher from the University of Strasbourg, criticized a Polish professor of history and senator Jan Żaryn, who is in charge of the website http://truthaboutcamps.eu, for his appeals not to use the phrase “Polish camps” but “German camps” instead. This kind of criticism is, according to an IHRA definition, a Holocaust distortion! The Polish participants, including the representatives of the Polish Institute of National Remembrance were not allowed to express their opinions, clarify, or correct certain false statements during the questions & answer sessions. Instead, there was a great deal of history falsification from the beginning to the end of the conference.
We must correct the lies and distortions regarding Poland and her WWII history. We cannot allow Poles, who heroically fought during WWII and who suffered so much, to be falsely, unjustly, and undeservedly painted as perpetrators. We seek to organize conferences where reliable, respectable, and professional panelists will have the opportunity to present the truth, while upholding high academic standards.
